AIKA World is a third-person, mission-based open-zone sci-fi game set in the year 2290, built with a real-anime (semi-realistic PBR) visual style. The player controls Shizuru, captain of the ARK — an old, resilient frigate that serves as the main hub for the crew.
The story follows a small group of survivors, each with their own background, abilities, and emotional dynamics, as they uncover the remnants of the AIKA conflict and explore a broken world.
Key principles shaping the gameplay, structure, and identity of AIKA World.
The ARK frigate acts as the main base between missions: crew interactions, rest, repairs, dialogue, and quiet slice-of-life moments all happen aboard the ship.
Instead of a fully open world, the game uses large, replayable open zones with clear objectives, side events, and environmental storytelling.
Characters and environments follow a semi-realistic PBR anime style designed for emotional expression, grounded proportions, and consistent presentation.
How the project is approached from a development and storytelling perspective.
The crew — Aika, Hina, Akari, Komi, Miyu, Yui, Ayana, Asami, Riko, Rei — form the emotional core of the world. Their relationships define the tone and pacing of the game.
Mechanics, systems, and zones are first explored through small prototypes before being integrated into the full mission structure.
Lore, technology, environments, and character design remain unified across the AIKA universe, including the cinematic AIKA Resonance project.
A full AIKA World site is planned with character pages, lore entries, progress updates, and downloadable media. The standalone hub will be available soon.
